(VOVworld) – The top aid of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in a strike in the ISIS-held city of Mosul, in northern Iraq, the Iraqi defense ministry said Thursday.

There has been no independent verification of his death however. Meanwhile, IS militants kidnapped 40 people in Kirkuk province. The reason behind the kidnapping is not yet clear.
