Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast on Monday warned the West not to “politicize” the nuclear power issue. Mehmanparast said the issue is “inflated” and “not compliant with international law”. Tehran pledged to sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty (NPT) so Iran will have the right to develop nuclear power for peaceful purposes. Iran’s Foreign Ministry called on the West to accept “a reasonable approach” and recognize Tehran’s right to develop nuclear power. Mehmanparast said that Iran is ready to refute the West’s concerns about its nuclear program.
