(VOVworld) – Iranian air defense forces sent warning signals to several foreign surveillance aircraft that tried to approach its airspace in the past two days. Lieutenant Commander of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base General Shahrokh Shahram said some of the aircraft were U-2s, the ultra-high altitude aircraft operated by the US.

Earlier this month, the Khatam al-Anbia Base had identified a U-2 reconnaissance plane trying to intrude into Iranian airspace. The plane was forced to leave when the air defense prepared to hit the plane.
