The warning came just two days before a new round of nuclear talks between Iran and the E3, which includes Britain, France and Germany.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, who has been part of Iran’s nuclear negotiation team, said that despite domestic pressure to withdraw from the NPT following last month’s strikes on its nuclear sites by the US and Israel, Tehran has remained compliant with the 1970 treaty.

The UK, France, and Germany, however, have suggested triggering a “snapback provision”, which would reimpose sanctions on Iran if there is no progress on a deal to limit its nuclear program by August 31^st.

“If the snapback is triggered, Iran will not show more restraint in this regard,” Gharibabadi said.
