(VOVworld) – On Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif hailed Germany’s stance on the current realities in the Middle East, saying Berlin plays a pivotal role in regional and global developments.

At a meeting in Tehran on Tuesday with Markus Ederer, State Secretary of Germany’s Federal Foreign Office, Mr. Zarif said Germany, unlike certain other Western players, holds no negative view on the existing realities in the region. He stressed the importance of frequent consultations between Iranian and German officials on political, economic, cultural, and parliamentary issues.
In a separate meeting, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs Majid Takht-e Ravanchi reaffirmed Iran's commitment to its obligations under its nuclear agreement with the P5+1group. Mr. Ravanchi said he hopes the P5+1 group will honor their commitments, especially those related to finance and banking.
