(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Women’s Union held a ceremony in Hanoi on Saturday to commemorate the 104th International Women’s Day and the 1974th anniversary of the uprising of the Trung sisters as well as to present the 2013 Kovalevskai prize. Standing member of the Party Central Committee Le Hong Anh praised the contributions of Vietnamese women to the nation’s revolution over the years. He said that women, particularly intellectuals, contribute significantly to national development. “In response to the global message of this year’s International Women’s Day “Equality for women is progress for all”, the Vietnamese Party and State will continue to improve the material and spiritual lives of women. There will be more policies to enhance the creativity and potential of Vietnamese women as well as their involvement in party committees and state management agencies. The Vietnam Women’s Union will be facilitated to perform its operations.”

This year’s Kovalevskai prize winners are Associate Prof. Dr. Le Thi Luan, Deputy Director of the Centre for the Research and Production of Vaccines and Biologicals and Associate Prf. Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy from the Institute for Transport Science and Technology.
On this occasion, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan met with a delegation of outstanding female entrepreneurs of the Vietnam Corporate Culture Center under the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
She praised their community and charity activities and encouraged them to contribute further to the nation’s development.
