(VOVworld) – The international community continues to praise a historic nuclear deal between Iran and the P5+1 group (US, Britain, France, Russia, China, and Germany).

German Chancellor Angela Merkel called the deal an important achievement of dogged policy and diplomacy and said it will have a major effect on security inside and outside the region. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed the deal, saying that once it is fully implemented it will strengthen international security. A statement issued by the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office said that having reached this important agreement, the focus will now be on swift and full implementation to make sure that a nuclear weapon remains beyond Iran’s reach. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the Iran nuclear deal paves the way for a broad coalition to fight the Islamic State and other terrorist groups.
