(VOVworld) – Both presidential candidates, Jakarta governor Joko Widodo and former general Prabowo Subianto, claimed victory in Indonesia's presidential election on Wednesday. The two candidates asked their supporters to monitor the delivery of ballots from polling stations to the Indonesian General Elections Commission until a final official result is announced by the commission on July 22. Fadli Zon, deputy chairman of Great Indonesia Movement Party, asked supporters of both men to show restraint while waiting for the official election results. The Indonesian media have announced the results of a number of different surveys which have been contradictory.
