ASIAD 18 will draw 15,000 athletes and coaches in 45 delegations to compete in 40 sports to win 463 medals. 30,000 volunteers will support the event. For many of the athletes, ASIAD 18 will be a tune-up for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

INASGOC Deputy Director of Media and Public Relations Danny Buldansyah said the work on the venues for ASIAD 18 has been completed, and transportation for the athletes, officials and reporters is almost ready. The Games will take place in Jakarta and Palembang from August 18 to September 2.
