Indian and Pakistani border troops exchanged heavy gunfire and artillery shells on line-of-control (LOC) in Kashmir on Tuesday. The ceasefire violation took place in the Krishna Ghati sector of frontier Poonch district, approximately 185 km southwest of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian- controlled Kashmir. The exchange started at around 1:10 p.m (local time) and lasted for 1 hour right after Pakistani troops attacked several military posts in Krishna Ghati sector with artillery and heavy gunfire. The Indian army also fired in retaliation and reported that they did not suffer from any damage.
