According to the General Statistics Office, global migration of Vietnamese people constitutes nearly 9% of the total population while domestic migration is over 7%, mostly young people. Delegates proposed increasing investment in the transfer of skills and knowledge as a key to generating employment opportunities for young people.

Nguyen Tuong Lam, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee called for collaboration between government agencies and organizations to help young people start businesses and advance their careers.

He said he hopes a conducive environment will be created for training, skill enhancement, and providing information on safe migration to youth entering the job market.

The seminar was co-hosted by the International Organization for Migration and the Youth Union.
