(VOVworld) - President Donald Trump demanded a House of Representatives vote on a Republican plan to repeal and replace parts of the Affordable Care Act on Friday, putting intense pressure on lawmakers to back a bill that lacked sufficient support to pass the chamber on Thursday.

Republican leaders failed to rally enough support to pass the bill in the House. Both conservative and moderate Republicans are insisting on changes.

Republican Mark Meadows, chairman of the hard-line conservative caucus, said no agreement was reached in negotiations with President Trump, who needs to sway another 30 or 40 votes.
