The rankings are based on reviews from tourists over the past 12 months. Bali of Indonesia topped the list, followed by Hoi An, the only Vietnamese representative.

Other destinations include the Maldives, Santorini of Greece, and Venice of Italy.

Hoi An was an important trading port of Southeast Asia from the 15th to 19th centuries. It has become a popular destination for domestic and foreign travelers.

On the 14th day of every lunar month, Hoi An hosts the "Full Moon Night in the Old Town" and other festivals with colorful lanterns of various shapes and sizes.
