Quan hailed the fruitful visit of the Bangladeshi President, which he said takes place at a crucial time when Vietnam is preparing for the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).
President Abdul Hamid said that while this is the first time he has visited Vietnam, he always regards Vietnam as a brother and vows to promote the close relationship between the two nations. He said he hopes Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City in particular will continue to create favorable conditions for Bangladeshi nationals to visit and work in Vietnam.

The same day, President Hamid met with representatives from Ho Chi Minh city’s Bangladeshi community and visited the Cu Chi tunnel historical site.
