The Association’s Chairman Tran Thanh Long told a ceremony to mark the 600,000th free eye operation on Sunday that in 1997 the first 100 poor patients received free eye surgery and escaped from blindness. He added the number of recipients has increased sharply and the Association will continue sponsoring eye surgery for poor patients.
