At the Association’s first Congress for the 2025-2030 term held in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday, delegates also focused on developing the marine economy coupled with the protection of sovereignty. They said the Association encourages members to participate in fishing teams and provide fishing logistics services at sea, both improving fishing efficiency and contributing to the protection of the Fatherland's seas.

11 key task groups were identified for the 2025-2030 term, in which, priority is given to developing members, both in quantity and quality, in order to build a widespread and closely connected membership force.

The Association will focus on practical support programs such as improving production capacity, increasing internal consumption, and limiting unfair competition. It also emphasizes protecting the legitimate rights of fishermen and businesses; mobilizing members to reduce the number of fishing vessels in coastal areas and change to sustainable occupations.

In aquaculture, the Association aims to promote industrial marine farming models, applying high technology, like modern cages, RAS circulation systems; supporting the establishment of farming areas that meet ASC, GlobalGAP, VietGAP, and MSC standards.
