The statement was made by Duong Quan Ha, President of the Viet Nam – China Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City at a ceremony to mark the 64th anniversary of Vietnam-China diplomatic ties, which falls on January 18. He said the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China has been consolidated. Economic, investment, and tourism cooperation has seen new development. Chai Wenrui, Chinese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, said the two countries should continue to respect their time-honored and profound friendship. Mr. Wenrui said: "Pursuing socialism, Vietnam and China share the same ideal and belief, which brings the two peoples closer. Vietnam and China’s arduous task of socialist construction faces many challenges, so, the two countries should share experience in Party building and State management".

Last year, two-way trade reached 60 billion USD and is expected to go even higher in the near future
