From now to 2030, Hanoi is set to become a city of civilization and modernity, the center and driving force for the development of the Red River Delta, the Northern key economic region, the Capital region and the whole country. It is striving to deeply integrate into the world, be highly competitive with the rest of the world, develop on a par with the capitals of developed countries in the region.
The average annual growth rate of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) will increase 7.5%-8.0% from 2021 to 2025, and 8.0-8.5% per year from 2026 to 2030. The urbanization rate will reach 60-62% by 2025 and 75% by 2030.
By 2045 Hanoi aims to be a globally connected city with a high standard of living and quality of life, with a GRDP per capita of over 36,000 USD. Economic, cultural and social development will be comprehensive, unique and harmonious and at the same level of capitals of developed countries, said the government action program.
