At the conference in Hanoi, leaders of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, tourism associations, and travel businesses exchanged information, surveyed destinations and connected different tourism products of the two localities.
In nine months of 2022, Son La welcomed 2.2 million tourists and its revenue from tourism services reached 80 million USD.
Director General of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh said: “Building new products and renewing old products is the most important task to attract tourists. Son La with natural resources and cultural values of the ethnic groups has the advantage of developing various types of tourism. The province has attracted many investors to create new products. That is Son La's strength. As for Hanoi as the capital city, urban tourism products, historical and cultural products and cuisine will be a very rich and potential resource for Son La and Hanoi to forge closer link for new products.”
Son La province, located on National Highway 6 more than 300 km northwest of Hanoi, has a 274 km border with Laos and 12 ethnic groups living in solidarity.
With its geographical position as the center of the Northwest region and natural and humanistic tourism resources, Son La has many great things to offer.
