A highlight of the event is hands-on experiences with energy-saving solutions, including models showcasing renewable energy applications in urban spaces and households, as well as electricity-generating cycling activities.
A series of events will also take place during the global Earth Hour, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, when lights will be turned off.
“Through the Earth Hour campaign, we hope to spread the message that energy saving should become a regular habit, from using energy-efficient appliances and optimizing production processes to applying new technological solutions. Only practical actions, maintained over time across society, can create sustainable efficiency in energy use,” said Lai Duc Tuan of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Michael Kratz, Counsellor for Economic and Climate Foreign Policy at the Embassy of the Germany in Vietnam, spoke highly of Vietnam’s response to the Earth Hour campaign.
“Every action we take matters. Our daily habits can have a significant impact. Germany remains committed to being a reliable partner of Vietnam on this important journey. We will continue to provide technical expertise, financial support and training programs to support Vietnam’s transition toward a greener and more sustainable future,” he said.
