(VOV) – About 1000 artists and film makers are convening at the 2nd Hanoi International Film Festival, themed “Pacific-Asia cinematography - Unity and Development”. Addressing the opening speech on Sunday, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh stressed the festival’s significance as an opportunity for Vietnam to exchange film-making experience with other participants to develop its cinema in the era of integration and development: The festival will feature more than 100 cinematographic works from 31 Pacific-Asian countries and territories. Vietnam will join the competition with over 40 films of different genres. I hope the entries will bring film-lovers artistic values and profound humanity.

Vietnam's "Blood Letter" will compete for the Best Feature Film

Awards will be given for Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Cartoon, and Best Documentary. Two Vietnamese films competing for Best Feature Film are Thien Menh Anh Hung (Blood Letter) and Dam Me (Passion).
