The decision was made at a meeting of the Hanoi Party Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control on Tuesday. The high-altitude fireworks performance on Lunar New Year's Eve will be broadcast live on TV without crowd gatherings.

Previously, Hanoi planned to put on fireworks shows in 30 venues, including Hoan Kiem lake, Lac Long Quan flower garden, Thong Nhat Park, My Dinh stadium, Van Quan lake, and Son Tay ancient citadel.
