(VOVworld) – The Gaza-ruling Hamas group in Palestine warned Israel Thursday not to tighten the blockade it has imposed on the Gaza Strip since 2007, saying all options are open to resist any tightening of the blockade.

In an emailed press statement, Sami Abu Zuhri, Hamas spokesman in Gaza, called on the international community to intervene to stop the Israeli siege measures imposed in the Gaza Strip.

On Wednesday Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya'lon announced that the Israeli army will soon start building ground barriers close to the fenced borders between Israel and the Gaza Strip. The ground barriers will include deep holes to prevent Palestinian infiltration from the Gaza Strip into Israel to carry out attacks.
