During the memorial ceremony in the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince, President Jovenel Moise pledged his efforts to recover Haiti and called for continued international assistance.
Around 3 million Haitians were affected by the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck on January 12, 2010. Port-au-Prince capital was flattened while millions of people turned homeless. Haiti has received enormous international support but it still remains the poorest country in the American continent.
