Welcoming the delegation at Noi Bai International Airport were Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Nguyen Hung Tam.
The visit holds significant importance in reaffirming the two countries’ determination to further strengthen their friendship and cooperation in multiple areas, particularly political ties, following more than a year and a half since the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
For Vietnam, hosting the Australian Governor-General reflects the country’s foreign policy of valuing relations with Pacific nations, particularly Australia, a country with an important role in the region, the first Western nation to establish diplomatic ties with Vietnam, and a partner with strong, effective cooperation.
For Australia, the visit underscores its consistent policy of prioritizing relations with Southeast Asia, including Vietnam.
