During the two working days, the Congress will review and assess the results of the 2020–2025 term, evaluate the leadership and direction of the Party Committee’s Executive Board, and set out orientations, goals, and tasks for the 2025–2030 term. Delegates will also discuss and contribute opinions to the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.

On Sunday, the Congress held a preparatory session chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, who also serves as Secretary of the Government’s Party Committee. Delegates participated in group discussions and plenary sessions.
During the group discussions, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh noted that the draft documents prepared for the 14th National Party Congress feature many new and practical elements with a more concise and action-oriented manner, focusing on key priorities, effectiveness, and feasibility. He also stressed the need to continue removing institutional bottlenecks to unlock and mobilize resources for national development.

Regarding cultural development, delegates proposed focusing on key objectives, including: developing a code of cultural values, improving cultural institutions, restoring heritage sites, advancing the cultural industries, and promoting digital transformation in cultural activities.
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said: “A developed nation today places increasing importance on culture. Cultural values are considered a vital resource to ensure sustainable development. This reflects the enduring vitality and significance of our cultural identity.”

Contributing to the draft documents of the Congress, Pham Manh Hung, Vice President of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV), highlighted the need to clarify the role of major media agencies including the Voice of Vietnam (VOV), Vietnam Television (VTV), Nhan Dan (People’s) Newspaper, People’s Army Newspaper, and People’s Public Security Newspaper in maintaining ideological stability, fostering social consensus, and inspiring national development.

The Congress continues on Monday. 453 official delegates representing over 209,000 Party members of the Government’s Party Committee, along with around 120 invited guests attended the Congress.
