(VOVworld)-Government members discussed socio economic situation and development plan for next year in their regular monthly meeting on Thursday.

In his closing remarks, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung called for a comprehensive review of expenditure for efficient saving and more drastic approach to deal with non performing loans and inventory, especially real estates doldrums: “Bankers have to take the first action in settling bad debts by complying with compulsory loss reserves, even with equity contraction. The property market must be warmed up especially social housing projects.”

The Prime Minister asked ministries and provinces to address production difficulties and expand export markets of competitive products. Cabinet members commented on the restructuring program proposal towards better quality, efficiency and competitiveness. They also discussed the draft laws on anti wastefulness and residence.
