(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has chaired a 2-day government monthly meeting, which concluded on Wednesday. Cabinet members agreed that measures have been taken aggressively in line with the Prime Minister’s guidelines, resulting in improved socio-economic developments. Despite difficulties over the past 8 months, agricultural output remained stable, while the industrial production index increased by 5.3%. Exports earned 85 billion USD, 15% higher than the same period last year.
To conclude the meeting, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung called on the ministries, sectors and localities to consistently implement the goal of macro-economic stabilization, inflation control, reasonable growth and social welfare: “I urge for efforts to curb inflation at 7%. The price of petrol should be decided by the market. How to control the price of electricity, health care and the education services? As we don’t subsidize these areas, we should ensure the sufficient supply of goods to avoid price hikes”.
The Prime Minister asked for the accelerated disbursement of public invested capital, Government bonds and the ODA. He stressed the need to help businesses escape economic stagnation and support export markets. The Prime Minister also called for precautions against natural disasters, including floods and storms.
