The project will foster AI literacy and equip medical workers with practical AI skills to improve clinical care, research, and health administration.

At the project launch ceremony in Hanoi on Friday, Bung Tran, Principal of the Google AI Gemini Academy, said, “We’re not just learning this tool or that tool; what we need is a mindset to help us collaborate with AI in the most effective way. Then comes the skill set — practical skills for using AI correctly. Finally, the tool set — the actual tools and applications.”

“This will be the first Training of Trainers course in Vietnam’s northern region. With the support of Hanoi Medical University, we can scale the project and share the story that healthcare workers will be able to use AI to save time and work more efficiently,” Bung noted.

Tailored for a broad range of roles from physicians and pharmacists to public health officers and university faculty, the curriculum combines foundational knowledge with hands-on learning to ensure wide-scale impact and immediate applicability.

The program is part of a broader Asia-Pacific regional initiative supported by Google.org and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
