The recognition event at the Po Sah Inu tower relic site in Phan Thiet city was followed by the kick-off of the Kate Festival, a traditional festival of Cham followers of Brahmanism in the south-central province.

The Golden Linga, a symbol of divine generative energy, was discovered during an archaeological excavation at the Po Dam Tower Relic Site in Lac Tri village, Tuy Phong district. It was recognized as a national architectural and artistic relic in 1996.

The artifact, dating back to around the 8th-9th century, is important for archaeology and for the study of history, culture, fine arts, religion, metallurgy, and the  goldsmith craft of the Cham community in the past.

Following the national treasure announcement, Kate Festival opened with the Po Sah Inu Goddess costume procession ceremony, the most important ritual of the festival.

It also featured the opening of the main tower gate, Linga-Yoni altar bathing rite, dressing up and making offerings in front of the main tower, as well as folk games and demonstrations of the Champa traditional crafts, such as Thon-La decoration and gingerbread making.
