Global oil prices continue downward trend

(VOVworld) - The global oil prices continued to drop on Monday. The move was attributed to the announcement of Japan, the third world biggest economy that its economy shrank in the second quarter against the same period last and the slowdown in China, the No2 in the world.

The statistics from New York Mercantile Exchange showed that WTI crude oil prices fell by 0.63 USD to 41.87 USD per barrel in Monday’s final session, the lowest level since March 2009.

In London bourse, Brent crude closed at 48.74 USD a barrel.

Prices of the US’s WTI experienced the deepest decline last week and the seven consecutive weeks.
