(VOVworld) – On Sunday, German security agencies estimated that thousands of EU-born terrorists may be on their way home soon since the fighting has intensified in Syria and Iraq.

In an interview with the Bild newspaper on Saturday, German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said Germany has seen the highest ever number of newly-arrived Muslims and that Germany is exerting great efforts to closely watching the potential terrorist threat. Germany has prepared scenarios to deploy the federal army on the streets and the army and the police will work together to deal with any terrorist attacks across the country.
