Hostilities between Israel and Hamas resumes breaking the 24-hour cease-fire.

An Israeli official said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had ordered his negotiators to return home after the truce collapsed. Palestinian top negotiator Azzam al-Ahmed said that his mission would leave Cairo on Wednesday, adding that the Palestinians would not turn down talks and wait for Israel’s response to its proposal. The US said that rockets launched from the Gaza strip sabotaged the Israel-Palestine talks. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has strongly condemned the cease-fire’s violation on Tuesday and expressed his disappointment as hostilities resumed.
