(VOVworld) – French President Francois Hollande commended Germany’s refugee policy on Wednesday and said he advocates a common solution to the migrant crisis for all European countries.

Hollande praised Germany for welcoming Syrian refugees and denied the claim that Chancellor Angela Merkel’s opening the door to migrants last summer worsened the crisis. Hollande attributed the huge influx of migrants to Syria’s war and the cruelty of IS fighters. He said the decision by numerous European countries to shut their doors to refugees is detrimental to the border-free Schengen agreement, which could lead to the EU’s collapse.
