(VOVworld) – Hundreds of fishing vessels have resumed their activities following Tet, preparing for a new fishing season off Truong Sa in the central province of Khanh Hoa.  

(VOVworld) – Hundreds of fishing vessels have resumed their activities following Tet, preparing for a new fishing season off Truong Sa in the central province of Khanh Hoa.  Each vessel is well-equipped with enough ice to preserve the fish and oil to run for up to 30 days at sea. Fisherman Nguyen Van Hao from Phuoc Dong commune in Nha Trang City said: "The first two months of the year are the time for us to catch anchovies while from March until the end of the year it is the tuna season. We expect a good catch for both anchovies and tuna this year."

Phan Thuan, Chairman of a Fishing Association in Tuy Hoa city, says that fishermen in the south central provinces started their new season on the 6th day of the new Lunar Year at sea off Truong Sa. Thuan said: "Fishermen like us only wish to have high productivity and to be able to sell fish at a good price. In addition to our fishing work, we have set up patrol groups at sea as part of our efforts to protect our country’s territorial waters."
