(VOVworld) - Europeans consider the militant group Islamic State to be the biggest threat facing their countries, ahead of climate change, economic instability, and refugees. According to a survey by the Pew Research Center on Monday, respondents in 9 out of 10 European countries said they saw IS as the greatest danger, with 93% of Spaniards and 91% of French describing the group as a "major threat".

The Islamic State's Amaq online magazine reported that a French police officer and his wife had been killed at their home in Paris on Tuesday by IS militants. French President Francois Holland condemned this barbarous act and convened a meeting with French security officials.

Security has been tightened in France for EURO 2016.

According to Iraq’s army on Monday, over the past 2 weeks, Iraqi security forces arrested 500 IS fighters mixed up with those fleeing Fallujah city in Anbar province. Last week, they set up a safe corridor that has allowed 7,000 Fallujah residents to flee to the southwest.
