After long negotiations, EU leaders agreed on several financial and political concessions in return for Turkey’s help in stemming migration to the Greek islands, Reuters reported. Under the deal, Turkey will take in all new migrants who reach Greece via the Aegean Sea, and for each Syrian among those returned the European Union will accept a Syrian from a Turkish refugee camp in a “one-for-one” exchange. The EU also agreed to expedite Turkey’s EU membership process and a scheme to let Turks visit Europe without visas. European Union President Donald Tusk and Turkish Prime Minister Davutoglu met on Friday to discuss the agreement.
