EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated the commitment to engaging the EU to constructively work with China to address global challenges. They stressed the importance of finding concrete solutions to rebalance the EU-China economic relationship and improve reciprocity in market access.
Kallas called on China to support a full and unconditional ceasefire and a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. Both also discussed the Middle East and welcomed the de-escalation by Israel and Iran. Kallas said she has urged Iran to restart negotiations on its nuclear program and that Europe stands ready to facilitate talks.
