A statement released on Wednesday said that the European Commission was “actively pursuing the integration of Syria into several key initiatives with its Mediterranean partner countries.”
After 14 years of conflict, Syria needs approximately 500 billion USD to restore its infrastructure. During a cabinet meeting last Saturday, interim P resident Ahmad Al Shara said that the new government aimed to attract investment in sectors such as transport, energy, tourism, and real estate.
