UN and Arab League envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, met with Syria’s foreign minister in Damascus this week in an effort to find a solution to Syria’s deadly 18-month crisis. Today Brahimi will meet President Bashar al-Assad and opposition groups. Brahimi’s mission is to sell a diplomatic solution to the crisis despire the failure of Kofi Annan's earlier peace plan.
