Speaking to Ha Tinh authorities, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance of ensuring transparency and appropriate levels of compensation: “In addition to cash compensation of Formosa, the government has implementing several programs to help the fishermen sustain their fishing, develop fishing services, and find new jobs. While going offshore fishing, our fishermen need to contribute to defending national maritime sovereignty”.

So far, the Ha Tinh Provincial People’s Committee has approved compensations worth nearly 1.2 billion VND for fishermen in Thinh Loc and Thach My communes, which were seriously affected by the sea environmental pollution in central Vietnam.
