The convoy was dispatched under the “Zad Al Izza: From Egypt to Gaza”initiative coordinated by the Egyptian Red Crescent. It carried food parcels and flour, medical supplies, blankets, winter clothing, mattresses, and tents.
Another emergency shipment being prepared with the help of 35,000 volunteers in Egypt is expected to reach Gaza in the coming hours.
Egypt has played a key role in humanitarian relief efforts in Gaza over the past two years. Cairo says it has delivered 780,000 tons of aid to the enclave, about 70% of all international humanitarian assistance sent to the area since October 2023, when the conflict began.
