Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi announced a 30-day state of emergency in Port Said, Suez, and Ismailiya, where more than 50 people have died in the last 3 days. President Morsi called on the opposition to take part in a dialog to find a solution to the current crisis and support Egypt’s democratic transition. But the representative of the opposition, the National Salvation Front (NSF), has expressed no interest in a dialog. The NSF wants the President to establish a Constitution Amendment Committee and a ‘national salvation government’. The opposition says it will continue to hold protests and has threatened to boycott the coming Parliamentary election if its requests are not implemented.
