The Egyptian President said they discussed regional developments, particularly the escalating Israeli military operations in Gaza.
The two underscored the vital need to comply with international law, and reiterated their vehement and categorical rejection of any forced transfer or forced displacement of Palestinians from their lands.
They also agreed on the necessity of addressing the root causes of the Palestinian issue to reach a just and comprehensive settlement and establish an independent Palestinian state based on a two-state solution.
Egypt was the first stop of Minister Wang Yi’s trip to Africa and America. He will visit Togo, Tunisia, and Cote d'Ivoire before continuing on to Brazil and Jamaica.
