The event was co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration and the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment. The participants focused on measures to restructure the economy in response to climate change in the coastal areas in Vietnam in general and in the South central region in particular. The measures include economic restructuring to develop eco-tourism, organic agriculture and renewable energy. So far, coastal areas such as Da Nang, Quang Ngai and Khanh Hoa have made full use of their marine potential to develop heavy industry and sea transportation.
