Mr. Tan said the Ministry has been focusing on strengthening the e‑government infrastructure, fostering the digital economy, and promoting e‑commerce on a nationwide scale.

“E‑commerce and the digital economy continue to be bright spots in socio-economic development. Vietnam has maintained its status as the fastest-growing digital economy in Southeast Asia for two consecutive years, 2022 and 2023, and is forecast to retain this position in 2025, sharing the lead with the Philippines," he said.
Vietnam’s Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) is expected to achieve a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20%, Mr. Tan noted, adding the GMV is anticipated to rise from 30 billion USD in 2023 to nearly 45 billion USD in 2025, with the e‑commerce sector driving this growth.

During the forum, the Ministry of Industry and Trade received valuable recommendations from various stakeholders, revolving around technology trends in digital transformation, strengthening the e‑government, and developing the digital economy in key sectors such as energy, smart manufacturing, e‑commerce, and logistics.
