(VOVworld) – The Dutch public went to the polls on Wednesday to decide whether to back a European treaty which seeks to strengthen ties with Ukraine.

In order for the referendum to be considered valid, 30 percent of the Dutch population eligible to vote must cast ballots.
Supporters say the deal will boost economic cooperation between the EU and Ukraine, while the opposition say the deal will sour on relations between the EU, Russia, and Ukraine.
