DPRK urges RoK to halt military drills

(VOVworld) – The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) called on the Republic of Korea (RoK) Sunday to stop all military exercises, including joint drills with the United States, if it really wants to improve inter-Korean ties.

Minju Joson newspaper of the DPRK said war rehearsals and dialogues cannot co-exist. The newspaper warned Seoul not to conduct drills that undermine peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and improvement in inter-Korean relations. The newspaper said if the South is truly determined to improve inter-Korean relations through dialogue and negotiations, it must halt all military drills with foreign forces.
