In an interview with Vietnam News Agency about the outstanding results of foreign affairs in the past year, Mr. Son said that in line with the 13^th National Party Congress and the Party's and State's foreign policies and guidelines, foreign affairs’  three pillars: Party diplomacy, State diplomacy and people's diplomacy have been carried out synchronously, creatively, and effectively. Vietnam has promoted relations with partners, especially with neighboring countries, important partners and traditional friends. The multilateral foreign policy has continued to affirm Vietnam's position and prestige in the international arena, according to Minister Son.

Together with national defense and security, foreign affairs have continued to contribute to firmly safeguarding sovereignty and territorial integrity, while maintaining a peaceful and stable environment. Economic diplomacy has been vigorous, practical, and effective. Cultural diplomacy has widely promoted the image of the country, people and culture of Vietnam to the world. The Overseas Vietnamese affairs have contributed to firmly consolidating the great national unity bloc, mobilizing the valuable support of Overseas Vietnamese for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic and for national development, said Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son.
