Delegates at the workshop held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development agreed that traceability increased economic benefits for Vietnamese farm produce. Nguyen Ngoc Thach, Editor in Chief of the Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper, said as Vietnamese agricultural products are now available in 200 countries and territories, ensuring food safety and origin transparency will help promote exports as well as protect the health of 100 million Vietnamese people.
"Traceability of food products will help monitor stages in the production processes. Traceability of agricultural products have been stipulated in Vietnamese legislation. Ensuring food safety and origin transparency is the responsibility of the whole community and digitalization plays an important role." said Mr. Thach.
Huynh Tan Dat, Deputy Director of the Plant Protection Department says promoting digitalization in tracing the origin of agricultural products will protect the benefits of farmers, cooperatives and businesses and strengthen product brands.
